Adam Weiner

Adam Weiner is a high school physics teacher, and author of the book “Don’t Try This at Home! The Physics of Hollywood Movies”. As a teacher he enjoys incorporating movies in the classroom as a way to illustrate physics concepts. In addition to teaching, Adam has written for PopSci magazine and has given public presentations on “movie physics” at colleges, museums, the USA Science and Engineering Festival, the Academy of Motion Pictures, and Comic-Con among other venues. He is extremely fond of Star Trek (the original series) and Mr. Spock is his favorite character.

Superheroes, Fact, Fiction, and Fantasy Superhero movies have become one of the most popular genres in popular entertainment. But what does science tell us about the possibility of superheroes in real life? Where does the reality of the physical universe as we know it collide with the iconic superhero fantasy? In this multimedia presentation we will explore these questions by scientifically analyzing scenes in some of our favorite superhero movies .
