(UWI) St. Augustine Campus
, the Caribbean Institute of Astronomy (CARINA), the Cayman Islands Ministry of
Education, Training and Employment
and the Cayman Islands Astronomical Society (CIAS) proudly hosted STEM
Carib 2012

The first of its kind to be offered in Cayman, STEM Carib 2012 engaged educators, students, professionals,
and the general public in a meaningful, dynamic learning environment in hopes of cultivating interest and
making advances in science, technology, engineering and mathematics – four areas that will equip society in
confronting the challenges of the 21st century.

STEM Carib 2012 provided a unique opportunity for members of local, regional and international academic
communities and industry experts to collaborate, network and expand their horizons for professional growth.
Filled with a plethora of presentations from education and industry leaders, the conference helped attendees
explore new and exciting content and techniques in STEM education, discover current trends in the field, and
